Brock amongst other things...

Got the phone call/email I was waiting/hoping for today.

I had applied for an International Programs Coordinator position at International Services at Brock University a week or so back.

Well I now have an interview at the end of next week.

I think this job would be much better suited to me. I love my Marketing Coordinator position at the mall, I love the work, but it's not completely suited to me. Retail isn't much my thing, and I would much rather be doing something that benefits/aids others. And I LOVED my job at international services back when I was at school. And really, what other experience could they want from someone? I've taken part in Brock's exchange program, I've traveled, taught in Japan, it's obviously I have a passion for all things international, and while I don't desire to be abroad myself anymore, I would love to help others experience the thrill of experiencing another culture. So exciting! :D

Also a good first step if I ever wanted to start my own ESL/Homestay Program like I had once talked about! We'll see, you never know!

In other news, not sure I've mentioned it or not...Asili can now properly shake paw, it's too cute!

Almost done the Leonard Cohen book, I've kind of put it aside for the last few pages to stretch it out, because I absolutely love it. I'll share my favourite poem from the book thus far. It was also the first poem I read when I was just flipping through the pages in the book store:

BODY OF LONELINESS

She entered my foot with her foot
and she entered my waist with her snow.
She entered my heart saying,
"Yes, that's right."
And so the Body of Loneliness
was covered from without,
and from within
the Body of Loneliness was embraced.
Now every time I try to draw a breath
she whispers to my breathlessness,
"Yes, my love, that's right, that's right."

I absolutely love the way his poems sound when you quietly whisper them when reading. They roll off your tongue so smoothly, there's something peaceful in them. I'm not a huge fan of poetry, but his is VERY good.

I'm also well into "Three Weeks with My Brother". I'm about 2/3 of the way through. I think what I like so much about Nicholas Sparks and his books is his complete and utter faith in humanity and in life in general. He has this amazing outlook and perspective on things that is comforting and he makes you believe that all is possible. His memoir is a good read as well, also helps that his childhood story is combined with his trip around the world; I love reading about all the places the tour took him.

Needless to say I'm enjoying reading again now after having completed "Mein Kampf"!
