How Evil Am I?

Should I be worried? Or more so, should YOU be worried??

Results from a test taken earlier today:

You Are 56% Evil

You are evil, but you haven't yet mastered the dark side.
Fear not though - you are on your way to world domination.

Business Awards

As I think I mentioned in my previous post, I went to the Chamber Business Awards on Thursday night.

I have to say, this evening has change my perspective of the city somewhat. Previously, to me at least, the city didn't offer that much and wasn't all THAT much different to Gravenhurst (my close friends know how I feel about Gravenhurst). The negatives of a city are always much more visible than the positives, and this is unfortunate.

Seeing, and hearing about all these successful business ventures and incredible business people, and the good actually going on in the city is very inspiring and motivating. A couple of speeches brought tears to my eyes (ok not very difficult but still I was moved).

As the mall was a sponsor of the business awards I had to present a few to the winners in the category we were sponsoring. This simply meant congratulating the winner, shaking their hand and handing them their award. One of the winner brought her young daughter up onto stage with her. She was so cute and sweet, maybe 8 (I'm horrible at guessing ages). My co-presenter and co-sponsor of the category was BMO, he shook the woman's hand and not the daughters, I don't know, I think it took courage for the girl to come up to the stage in front of a room full of adults and strangers at that. I shook both their hands. I think young children are often over looked.

LOL, I don't really know where I was going with all this. But the business awards did inspire me. I want to, I need to get involved with something again. But I don't want to do this until I know where I'm going to be for longer period of time. I hope I find out whether or not my position at the mall will become permanent soon, so that I can start planning and doing the things I want to be doing.

Weenie's Philosophy of "To Do's"

So this is my philosophy on “To Do” Lists…

..the motivation and success of to do lists is all in seeing things accomplished...so that's why even on an "off" day it good to make a short list of simple tasks, but in having completed them you still feel productive and more eager to tackle the next day's list…

This is what I was explaining to Bobbi the other day.

You can also blame her for the lameness of this blog. But it was her who requested that I write another (and she is the reason that writing this made my Wednesday To Do List), and since she’s one of my few loyal readers I thought it best to keep her happy.

To further establish my ‘dorkiness’ let me further explain my obsession with lists. I keep a binder, yes an ENTIRE binder, solely for this purpose. In it I have dividers. One is for my general, daily “to do’s”, another is for other lists that I keep (this includes my book list, goal lists – there are several to include different time frames, shopping lists, Christmas gift and cards lists for the past years and an ideas list for the upcoming holiday season, then there is a section for random notes pertaining to any of this or for information that is required for a task on my daily to do list, a miscellaneous section for anything that doesn’t fit elsewhere, and the final section is labeled “writings” in which I keep some of my course work (that I really should get working on again, that’s on my goal list for 2006) and recreation pieces that I’ve written.

Here I must take a potty break, not for me, but rather for Asili. I’ve even remembered to save this incase my computer freezes while I myself am outside in the freezing cold.

Back. It’s actually, surprisingly, a really nice night out.

And I’m not so completely anal that I am upset if something on my list doesn’t get done. It can always be shifted to the next day’s list. I function like this at work as well. My entire agenda book if full of “To Do’s”…of course at work it’s more important since I have so many events and things on the go simultaneously (which is one of the things I love about the job!). Currently I am working on; March Break, Spring Home Show, Easter, Police Week, Job Fair, the AGM and yes even Christmas 2006!

Anyways, I am sure you will agree that I’ve written more than enough on this.

Tomorrow evening I am going to the Chamber Business Awards. One of the stores in the mall that I nominated for an award actually won…so woo hoo! I spent half my evening today figuring out what shirt to wear with my suit (yes this was on my list of to do’s)…my biggest problem was that I wanted to wear one of my already ironed shirts. Anyways mission accomplished, I figured something out.

Over the weekend I’ll take some new pictures of Asili and post them. She’s now 3 months old. The previous photo is from when she was just 5 weeks old. She’s starting to lose her puppy look. She can now sit on command and play fetch. Those are the Asili highlights.

Anyways, off to scratch “write blog” from my Wednesday list! :)
